When you create a Play-Em account, Play-Em collects a user’s email address and username, and at the user’s option, first and last name. Play-Em has no obligation to keep private personally identifiable information that a user makes available to other users via the Play-Em website’s forum or social media websites or other software provided by Play-Em, such as in multiplayer chat included the games it provides or other public functions.

If you choose to submit content for publication (e.g., a “letter to our editors”), we may publish your account name and other information you have provided to us, provided you have given consent for such publication.

Play-Em sometimes use information that we collect to improve the design and content of our services and to enable us to personalize your experience with us. Data Retention

Play-Em will only retain personally identifiable information for the accounts created on the Play-Em website so long as the account is not deactivated or closed. This data is retained for account use to ensure Play-Em services work correctly as intended. To remove account data, please refer to the section on Unsubscribing & Access to Your Information below.

International Data Transfers

Information that Play-Em collects may be stored, processed in, and transferred between any of the countries in which we operate in order to enable us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The information provided to Play-Em may be transferred to the following countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in force in the European Economic Area: the United States of America, Russia, Japan, China, and India. Special Note for Parents

Visitors to Play-Em’s website may participate in activities without providing any personally identifiable information. However, if a user wants to receive emails from Play-Em, or wants to access Play-Em’s broadband gaming network, we ask the user to provide us with personal information, including name, account name, e-mail address, gender, and/or age information. If a visitor to Play-Em’s website self-identifies as under 13 years of age, we will either collect no personally identifiable information from that individual, inform the child that a parent’s verifiable consent is required, or we will collect the e-mail address of the user’s parent in addition to the user’s e-mail address. We use the parent’s e-mail address to seek the parent’s verifiable consent or notify the parent of his/her child’s online activities and enable the parent to unsubscribe his/her child from a newsletter or other similar activity.
